Anguenot was graduated from L’Ecole des Beaux Arts of Toulouse.
On the faces of his personalities we can see reflected a pure and sensible souls. «The face is the mirror of the soul».
This is highly felt as a profound involvement, a kind of secret connection, as if somehow these beautiful entities are talking to us from within …
The contrast light-shadow with the appropriate colors (without nevertheless sink into the total black) accentuates the effect of the magic already felt and attracts the eye look to go deeper in the painting and to loose itself.
He elaborates the human life (woman & man) in all its moods (love, hate, intimacy, happiness, sadness, kindness and wickedness).
The beauty of his work resides in the transparency of the layers, which makes his personalities very vulnerable and almost mystique.
His personalities are fragile and even his “fatal women” are very sensitive.
Evidently these are naked women, in closed scenes, yet with a careful look, we can definitely speak about an intimate distance that ANGUENOT creates between his feminine figures and the eye of the beholder.
This distance is necessary to transform the apparently closed monologue to a mysteriously (paradoxically) silent dialogue. A dialogue of souls…
